    Reduced worker injuries and fatalities

    Reduced Insurance and Legal Costs

    Improved worker moral and productivity

Reduced equipment and facility repair costs

    Improved equipment up-time

Enable thorough investigation of accidents and near misses

Demonstration to stakeholders that workplace safety is a top priority
  • The Opportunity

    The Opportunity

Each year industrial mobile equipment such as lift trucks, skid steer loaders and haul trucks are invovled in thousands of workplace accidents

In fact, acording to 2007 statistics from the Associaton of Workers' Compentsation Boards of Canada and the U.S. Bureau of Labour, mobile equipment was the source of over 275 deaths and 20,000 lost time injuries across Canada and the United States.

Using data from Work Safe BC and the US Nationaly Safety Council, we estimate the annual impact of these accidents oto exceed $US 750 million. These figures represent worker costs only and do not include damages to property and equipment.

  • How We Do It?

    How We Do It

Using Advanced radio-frequency identification (RFID) technologies, PSST has developed a patent pending collision avoidance system that can be tailored to a wide range of mobile equipment and workplace environments.

The system is able to quickly and accurately measure the proximity of people, objects and vehicles within the workplace. These real-time proximity measurements are then used to trigger warnings to both workers and vehicle operators when safety zones have been breached.

A typical installation would include the use of both a warning and danger zone with distinctive signalling, alerting machine operators and workers in potential dangerous situations. Based on ground speed, these zones dynamically adjust to the machine speed assuring the worker is always alerted at appropriate times.
